In September 2017, Ambedkar Society of South Asia (ASSA) was established to promote Dr Ambedkar’s philosophy of social justice in South Asian region. ASSA is currently working as a registered NGO and subsidiary organization of Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) under an MoU.
Mission
Ambedkar Society for South Asia (ASSA) works for the promotion of Dr Ambedkar Philosophy of Social Justice for uplifting of oppressed and marginalized minority communities of South Asia prominent including Dalits Community. Dr Ambedkar’s philosophy addresses issues and needs of socially, economically and politically deprived, neglected, down trodden and caste ridden society of South Asia. ASSA is to pave a path to bring the followers of Baba Sahib Ambedkar together and make joint effort to save minorities and lower caste poor people of South Asian region from oppression and exploitation.
ASSA promotes the teaching and philosophy of Dr. Ambedkar through seminars, conferences and also carries out social work for welfare of minority communities in the field of health and education. It organizes seminars and conferences and invite intellectuals, scholars and activists from minorities communities of Dalits, Christians, Sikhs and others from Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bangladesh, UK, America and other countries and jointly work with them for the promotion and awareness of Dr. Ambedkar vision and philosophy for social justice, human rights and democratic values. It works to ensure equality, liberty and social justice for down trodden communities of South Asia. It also has objective to help out researcher in publishing their research work on Dr Ambedkar. To financially support children of oppressed, marginalized and poor strata of the society in their socio economic uplift is also one of its objectives. It raises voice against the discrimination which the minorities face and protect the rights of minorities in south Asia.
