Off lately multiple celebs have been receiving flak for their choice of words while sharing videos on social media.
Recently actors Munmun Dutta and Yuvika Chaudhary have been booked for using casteist slurs causing an outrage on virtual platforms.
Here's a look at other celebs who also landed in a legal soup for the same.
Salman Khan
In 2017, Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty had allegedly made some objectionable remarks against the 'Valmiki' community during promotion of film 'Tiger Zinda Hai' on reality TV show Bigg Boss.
While Salman used the word 'bh**gi' while referring to his dancing skills, Shilpa had used the same to describe how she looks at home.
Following this, FIRs were lodged against Khan in six states like Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Mumbai.
Salman had the moved the Supreme Court with a plea seeking quashing of all the FIRs registered against him in this regard.
Yuvraj Singh
Last year, former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh during one of the Instagram live sessions with Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma made a casteist remark against Yuzvendra Chahal.
He later apologised for making the offensive comment saying he "unintentionally" hurt public sentiments.
The veteran of 304 ODIs, 58 T20Is and 40 Tests also clarified that he has "never believed" in any kind of discrimination.
However, the Haryana Police registered an FIR against Singh under various provisions of IPC and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act following a complaint by lawyer Rajat Kalsan.
Yuvika Chaudhary
Actress Yuvika Chaudhary has been booked by the Haryana Police on a complaint by a Dalit rights activist for allegedly using a casteist slur in a video that went viral on social media. Police registered an FIR against the actress under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
The former "Bigg Boss" contestant soon took to Twitter to issue an apology, saying she did not know the meaning of the said word.
Munmun Dutta
Mumbai police have registered a case against television actor Munmun Dutta for allegedly using a derogatory term against a community.
The case relates to the remark that the "Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma" actor made in a video about make-up, which she had posted on a social media platform and used the word 'bh**gi'.
The actor had drawn flak for her remark, following which she had issued an apology, in which she said that she used the word due to her "language barrier".
Earlier, similar cases were registered against the actor in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
