Irregularities were reported in the scholarship fund meant for Dalit students of Sthanapati Secondary School located in Manthali Municipality, Ramechhap.

Dalit students were deprived of the fund allocated by the municipality for the past three years. It is learnt that head teacher Rambabu Giri embezzled the fund.

Manthali Municipality Education Department Chief Hemant Budhathoki said Rs 146,000 scholarship money was not distributed. The department said Giri was sacked from the post of head teacher after it was reported that the scholarship money was not distributed to beneficiaries.

Parents and guardians accused head teacher Giri of embezzling Rs 6.5 lakh collected for library management.

The school has failed to carry out social audit for lack of transparent financial activities for the last two years.
