BBC released the list of 100 inspiring women from all across the world and one of them is Bonita Sharma. Sharma is a Nepali social activist who owns a social organization Social Changemakers and Innovators (SOCHAI) -- a youth led nonprofit organization formed with a vision to improve health and nutrition of people, particularly, women, girls and children through education, innovation and entrepreneurship. The organization has been raising awareness about the importance of nutritious food among the various communities of the country.

"In a bid to tackle child deaths to malnutrition, she designed Nutribeads, a bracelet for new mums with different colored beads to remind them what to feed their babies," her profile on BBC reads. "There are people in the world who are facing the devastating consequences of inequality in health, education and nutrition right now, and there are women and girls who are working relentlessly to change this status quo. I hope every woman and girl will have an opportunity to reach their full potential in life without any discrimination. Brace yourselves for the future, because female led global socio-economic transformation is coming!"

Her projects have been awarded funding from the UNESCO Malala Fund for Girls' Right to Education. Sharma took to her Facebook on Wednesday to express her gratitude to all the well-wishers. She wrote, "To be listed among the women I see as my role model is just overwhelming and empowering at the same time. Thank you BBC! It's an honor to be included in the list of BBC 100 Women 2019. We at SOCHAI will continue fighting our fight to break the inter-generational cycle of malnutrition by educating women, men, adolescents and children. #BBC #BBC100Women"
