Various Dalits organisations formed a united group called "Bahujan Front" during a meeting held at Ravi Dass Mandir Chack Hakim, near here on Sunday evening.
A 51-member action committee was also formed. BSP leader Sukhwinder Kotli was appointed chairman. The meeting decided to provide legal and financial help to Dalit activists who were arrested by the Delhi police during recent protests.
The Dalits decided to gherao the Phagwara residence of Union Minister of State Som Parkash on Wednesday. The dharna would continue till the minister's assurance for early reconstruction of Ravidas temple at Tuglqabad in Delhi.
Kotli said they would also organise a protest outside the residence of Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal at Badal village on August 31. The protests would also be held against Union Minister Hardeep Puri.
