Jaipur: Various Dalit organizations have given a call for Jaipur bandh on Friday to protest gang-rape of a Dalit married woman at Thanagazi in Alwar district and nine such incidents in Udaipurwati and the police inaction in such cases.
Bharat Ekta Munch leader Roshan Mundotiya said people from all over the state would converge at Albert Hall at 10 am and take out a procession to press their various demands. He said about 6,000 people from all over the state is expected to converge in Jaipur to enforce the bundh.
The demands of the agitators include death sentence for the accused, handing over the case to CBI, government job for the rape survivors, state and Central government assistance of Rs 50 lakh each among others. They said, till their demands are met, agitations in some form will be continued.
Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekar, BSP leader Rajesh Bhaida, Bharat Andolan Munch leaders Roshan Mundotiya and Geegraj Verma were leading the bandh.
Meanwhile, various Dalit, women and human rights organisations on Thursday condemned that local political leaders, including former BJP minister Hem Singh Bhadana's attempt to influence the family offering money to settle the case.
