Remembering Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary can be a part of formality. In fact, by remembering such great men, we awaken our consciousness. Dr. Ambedkar has also been such a thinker, keeping in whose mind the welfare of the society lies. That's why he is being remembered again and again in the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence and in the beginning of Amrit Kaal. Here, in many recent events, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has remembered Baba Saheb in various contexts. He says that people generally call Baba Saheb the messiah of Dalits. According to the Prime Minister, the truth is that Ambedkar was a benefactor of mankind. Wherever there are downtrodden, neglected people in the society, along with them, he also suggested a way through the constitution for the entire society. If seen in the light of this statement of the Prime Minister, Dr. Amdekar's contribution in the making of the Constitution is certain. The specialty of the constitution is such that if one wants to speak in favor of an issue, its support is taken and to give arguments against the same issue, the constitution itself is needed. This is the specialty of the universally accepted constitution. Along with this, it cannot be denied that Ambedkar saheb widely spread Dalit consciousness in constitution making and apart from that.

It has to be seen that in the Constituent Assembly in which Dr. Ambedkar was the chairman of the drafting committee. There were no less problems in his work there. Then the background from which they came, the social neglect they were subjected to since childhood, could have caused bitterness in their mind. In spite of this, he used to say the harshest things towards other parts of the country and society at any place, with such sincerity that no one gets angry and Baba Saheb continues to move forward on the path of his objective. If seen, Ambedkar himself had to become a victim of the inhuman system of untouchability. Because of this experience, he had to go to the extent of opposing Gandhiji. He continued to consider Gandhi as the universal hero of the freedom movement but not the Mahatma. He used to say that Gandhi ji opposes untouchability but stands with the so-called divine system, which is its father. In true sense, this is the clear message of Ambedkar that Hinduism could not spread due to some of its similar limitations or inconsistencies were included in it. Dr. Ambedkar later accepted Buddhism for this reason. It is a different matter that taking inspiration from heroes like him, Hinduism has also shown revolutionary adaptability to the times.

Dr. Ambedkar seems to have kept the ideas of great saint Jyotiba Phule in his center in his social thinking. Then in political thinking, he continued to fight for Dalits for their rights. Remember, they became aware of this from 1920 itself, that is, 27 years before independence. He had started demanding separate voting rights for Dalits before any kind of thinking on constitution making in India. Considering Dalits as the main part of the society, Gandhi ji wanted the same type of voting system. That's why they openly went against it. As a result, the historic time of Poona Pact came, when reservation was arranged for Dalits. From time to time, with many reforms, arrangements were made for reserved seats for various houses including education and jobs. Today there is no difference in the fact that this has happened only on the initiative of Babasaheb.

The question is that from where did Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar get the inspiration to fight for the Dalits. Buddhism has been mentioned above, but this is a later matter. During foreign education, Bhimrao Ambedkar kept seeing that there is no discrimination among Christian missionaries. That's why they are on the side of diffusion. It has to be understood carefully that despite this, for social consciousness, they do not take inspiration from Christian missionaries, but from Indian saints like Jyotiba Phule. Even for the shelter of religion, they turn to the Indian-born Buddhist sect. Baba Phule opposed child marriage and supported widow marriage. There used to be a lot of child marriages then, it was a bit more in the downtrodden class. Then Phule had told education as the first need. Wherever Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar got the opportunity, he kept on emphasizing on education for the Dalit society. Whenever he called for the struggle for his rights, he emphasized on education first. His famous slogan was - be educated, struggle. It is clear that education is also necessary for struggle. Only an educated citizen can move forward in the right direction of the struggle. In short, it should be said again that Dr. Bhimrao Amdekar needs to be understood properly today. That understanding can be that he gave a national form to Dalit consciousness for the first time. Due to his inspiration, later Dalit leaders also started a big movement.
