Ambedkar Society for South Asia (ASSA) and Jinnah-Ambedkar Chair, Center for South Asian Studies, University of The Punjab, organized an international webinar titled, "A Tribute to a Great Man - Bhim Rao Ambedkar" in connection with the Birth Anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, on 18th April 2024 at 2:30PM (IST) with following guest speakers from India including

1- DR. AMRITPAUL KAUR (Dental Surgeon, Masters in Dr Ambedkar Thought
Founding Member of National Council of Women Leaders, INDIA)

2- DR. NARENDAR KUMAR (Chairperson, Centre for Political Studies,
Jawaharlal Nehru university, New Delhi India)

3- DR. SUBHASH (Associate Professor of Economics
Dronacharya Govt College Gurugram Haryana)

4- DR. VINOD KUMAR (Professor of Law. Director, Centre for Human Rights and Subaltern Studies at NLU Delhi)

The speakers discussed the contributions of Dr. B. R Ambekdar to the just society and the impact of his ideas and policies on contemporary India. They discussed how his ideas and policies continue to inspire social reformers and policymakers in India and other parts of the world. Dr. Amritpaul Kaur began by highlighting Dr. Ambedkar's contributions to women's rights and his significance in the Indian context. She emphasized the importance of understanding his thoughts and their relevance in today's society. Dr. Narendar Kumar focused on Dr. Ambedkar's role in the framing of the Indian Constitution and his fight for social justice. He also discussed the challenges faced by India in maintaining the principles set forth by Ambedkar. Dr. Subhash, in his speech shared insights on Dr. Ambedkar's economic vision and how it can be applied to contemporary India. He highlighted the importance of understanding Ambedkar's economic ideas to address India's socio-economic challenges. Dr. Vinod Kumar spoke about the significance of Dr. Ambedkar's work in the field of law and human rights. He emphasized the need to continue Ambedkar's legacy in upholding justice and equality for all. The webinar concluded with a Q&A session, allowing participants to pose questions to the speakers and engage in a meaningful exchange of ideas.
